Contracts and Leases Overview
The Rosemount Research Center reports to the Director of Real Estate. The Center is a self-supported department with all users of the Center paying rent. The mission of the Rosemount Research Center is to maintain the Center's grounds and buildings until needed for assignment for University academic, research, and support purposes. The site consists of 4,357 acres, with 45 buildings totaling approximately 500,000 square feet. Presently, these buildings are leased to commercial and housing tenants and used by several University departments for storage purposes. Approximately 1,500 acres are leased to farmers. The University uses the revenues generated to pay the Center's maintenance and operations costs and to fund the salaries of the Center's personnel staff. University units using the Center include the Police Department (shooting range), College of Architecture and Landscape Architecture, and the College of Veterinary Medicine. The Center works closely with the adjacent Rosemount Research and Outreach Center on maintenance issues. The Rosemount Research Center is part of UMore Park. |
