| UMore Park provides a land-based research site for approximately 40-45 faculty and their students and staff each year. Faculty conducting research at UMore Park are primarily from the Colleges of Food, Agricultural and Natural Resource Sciences; Design; and Veterinary Medicine.
Approximately 600-900 acres are dedicated to support of research at UMore Park. Research programs are carried out each year by University of Minnesota faculty on soybeans, potatoes, small grains, soil fertility, forages, vegetable production, plant pest management, carbon sequestration, turf grass, ornamental plants, turkeys, and beef cattle. In addition to crops and livestock research, research on building foundations, recreational trails, and trees are also underway at UMore Park.
UMore Park staff provide research support for faculty including such tasks as tillage, planting, treatment applications, harvesting, and livestock management and health care. Approximately 600-900 acres are available for plant and livestock research projects.
Faculty, students and staff who desire to schedule research projects at UMore Park should contact the Director of UMore Park or the Assistant Director of the Rosemount Research and Outreach Center to inquire about reserving facility or plot space and arranging for technical support. University faculty and staff will be charged a modest research fee to reserve research facilities and arrange for technical assistance as needed.
